Innovation Analyst
The Innovation and New Ventures (INVO) Office supports innovation and entrepreneurship at Northwestern and helps move Northwestern technologies to the marketplace. The INVO Practicum is a 6-month internship program, where interns are exposed to vast areas of innovation and gain hands-on experience in evaluating technologies.
As an innovation analyst I was responsible for assessing new technologies invented by the university based on the technologies intellectual property, marketability and its ability to be commercialised. I was exposed to a number of different technologies that fell in and outside of my wheelhouse. In addition to the assessments, I was tasked with building Northwestern Universities Therapeutic Database (NUTD) to present to potential industry partners and investors.
